Student Unionism
Students shall be allowed to operate a Student Union Government under the name “School of
Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, Calabar Student Union Government” (SPMHNCSUG) for
purpose of freedom of association and positive contributions to the school: the nursing profession
and the society.
Clubs and Association
Students shall be free to join clubs and associations that would contribute meaningfully to the
growth and promotion of the individual; the school; the image of nursing profession as well as the
society. For example, such association may include:- Fellowship of Christian Nurses (FCN); clubs
campaigning against HIV/AIDS, Human Trafficking, Drug Abuse, Human Right Abuse etc.
Registration of Clubs and Association
Students shall be free to register any other club after due process and approval by the school
authority.
Rules Guiding Operation of Clubs and Associations
Application for the registration of a club in the school shall be formal, accompanied with: The club
constitution; membership list and the name of the students adviser.
– All clubs and associations must obtain official approval from the school authority before they
could operate.
– Any club or association that allows its activities to conflict or interfere with the school’s
Rules/Regulations and programme shall be proscribed.
