A. Paper One: “Dynamics in Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing” A three hour paper with 100
objective test items and three essay questions. It shall be made up of the following courses:
Neuro-Anatomy and Physiology; Psychopharmacology, Dynamics in Mental Health Nursing I & II;
Applied Psychological Care; Medical Sociology; Community Mental Health; Legal Aspect of Mental
Health Care and Introduction to Information and Communication Technology.
B. Paper Two: “Perspective in Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing” A three hour paper with 100
objective test items and three essay questions. It shall be made up of the following courses:
Neuro-Anatomy and Physiology; Perspective in Mental Health Care I & II; Research Methods and
Statistics; Diseases of the Nervous and Endocrine System; Somatotherapies in Psychiatric
Nursing; and Management/Administration.
C. A 60 minutes practical examination to beheld in the clinical setting and 10 minutes oral
examination.
D. An Individual Research Project: Shall be submitted to the Council in partial fulfillment of the
requirements for the award of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing Certificate.
E. Unsuccessful candidates shall repeat the Council’s examination twice only.
